For the general running of the Church | |
The people of the parish of Purton have supported St Mary’s for generations, and they continue to do so today.
Principally, they support us with their prayers, with their attendance at our services and social events, and with their time.
Church members take Holy Communion to the sick, they visit those preparing for baptism, they sing in the choir or play in the music group, they help to keep the Church clean and tidy, and they help in arranging the flowers.
Many Church members commit to regular giving financially - this is our main source of income and is key to our ability to keep St Mary's running. The Parish Giving Scheme is the main way that we give money regularly.
Also, some Church members and others with an interest in conserving the heritage of our Church building help with building maintenance by joining the Friends of St Marys.
But a regular commitment to support St Mary’s financially is not necessary - if you would like to make a one-off donation at anytime the easiest way is a card payment online using the donation buttons above.
It costs us £1,500 each week to keep St Mary’s running, and we are extremely grateful for all donations of time, skills and money, without which we would not be able to serve our community as God has called us do.
