Adults Growing in Faith

Bible study groups

Small groups, meeting on a regular basis to study the bible, are a great way to grow in faith and understanding. Small groups give everyone the opportunity to participate in discussion and to listen to and support one another on their journey in faith. Participation and engagement are the primary aims. Topics for study are decided by the group and the leader is there to help facilitate the group and build the trust and confidence.

Current studies include:

Prayer groups

’Be joyful always; pray constantly; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

Christians meeting and praying at locations around Purton will feature as ‘Glows’ in the dark as God looks down on his world.  Meeting and praying together as God’s family can bond us to God and one another.

Current groups include:

Monday Morning prayer group on Zoom

Preparation for baptism, marriage and confirmation

Getting baptised or married are important milestones in people’s lives that provide key opportunities for us to witness to our faith and possibly help others to encounter Jesus Christ for the first time. In preparation for confirmation we can walk alongside those who are confirming their commitment in Christ.

Getting Involved

Join a bible study group!

No previous experience of bible study is needed. What is important that you are seeking to grow in spiritual maturity, that you are open to learn more about the Christian faith through studying God’s word and that you want to take this journey in fellowship with others in the church family.

Groups also need leaders so if you feel you may be able to lead, then why not enquire about what is involved.

Join an existing prayer group or set up your own!

We need groups to suit all life circumstances, be it early morning, after the school run or later in the day.  In addition, why not volunteer to join a rota and be available for prayer with anyone seeking prayer at the end of our services.

If you are interested in helping people prepare for key life commitments like baptism, marriage or confirmation please do get in contact.
